A Place I Keep Returning To

I’ve been visiting La Maison for over ten years, and I’m always welcomed with the same warmth. I’ve filmed some of my favourite campaigns in their showroom and, over time, became friends with Cristina. Through her, I came to know the story behind the family business.
Everything you see in the showroom can be made to order in La Maison’s own factory. A sofa or table is a starting point: you can choose the dimensions, materials, colours and finishes to suit your home. In a world where so much is bought ready-made, there’s something special about seeing a piece take shape around the way you live.
Their showroom on Dacia Boulevard is a place I still enjoy returning to, both for the furniture and for the people behind it.
Set in a historic house in central Bucharest, the La Maison showroom has been our workplace and a space for ideas for more than a decade. We have come to know its rooms through daily life: the light at different hours, the corners that invite a pause, the ways a new piece can change the feel of a familiar space.
Perhaps that closeness is why we keep returning to it with fresh eyes. Rooms are rearranged, new pieces find their place and details change as our ideas develop. The house carries its history, while making room for the way we want to live today.
A House to Imagine

I’ve always believed that the space we wake up in shapes the day ahead. I live in an apartment now, but I often imagine a house of my own—and I know I would look to La Maison to help make it feel like mine.
Their approach brings together bespoke furniture, thoughtful interiors and pieces such as La Cornue’s made-to-order French cooking ranges. What stays with me is how naturally it all belongs together. Walking through the showroom, I can almost picture a quiet morning there, coffee in hand.
